The command crew of the Starship Yorktown, shortly before the end of their first year under the command of Captain Lester Bulloch.
From left to right: Lt. Commander Theen (Security & Second Officer); Lt. Commander Donovan (Chief Science Officer); Ensign K'Tema (Communications); Captain Bulloch; Commander Binoche (Navigator & First Officer); Lieutenant Rai (Chief Medical Officer); Ensign Hipper (Helm); Yeoman Xesha; Lieutenant Commander Park (Chief Engineer)
I rendered this in three parts a few weeks ago, and stuck them together. I used the aspect ratio from the films, but in the future I'll be going with a standard widescreen format. The conceit here will be a sort of "TV show" idea similar to those employed by many others. "These are the voyages of the Starship Yorktown" or something along those lines. Inspired in equal parts by works by Arcass (whose images got me on the Trek kick) and Celticarchie (for this specific image and description). Individual character portraits to follow.
Ptrope's Bridge, modified with shaders by Calida; screens found online over time (if I have used something of yours, let me know so I can give credit; this specifically refers to the kickass DCARS display at Engineering that I tweaked); JamesJAB uniform textures tweaked by me to include Yorktown insignia; various characters, hair, and so on from DAZ and Renderosity that I'll credit in the individual portraits.
Star Trek and all derivatives thereof copyright CBS. Or whatever legal mumbo-jumbo makes it plain I'm not claiming credit for it.
I wish they'd do a 3D animated series with a crew like this (especially an Andorian as a regular cast member which is LONG overdue in Trek, imo). It would be so much more cost-effective than live action, and they could pull off effects and render scenes that would be much harder (and way more costly) to do otherwise.
Much appreciated. Unfortunately, my 4 year old machine and DS3A's uber shader system aren't getting along very well right now, so group shots may be on hold until I can afford an upgrade.
This Rocks!
